Leaning towards clean and uncomplicated silhouettes, Bottega Veneta‘s creative director, Thomas Maier wanted to push the boundaries with the Women’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection. He comments, “The result was very particular, with a mix of control and passion that I think reflects the mood of the moment.” Colours are vivid and the collection embraces a broad range of materials – from fuzzy woven wool blends to waxed leather. “Designing this collection was like being in a laboratory.”

At Bottega Veneta Women’s Fall/Winter 2010/2011 show the collection displayed subtle strength in feminine fluidity. With rich, solid hues like chocolate and black for its garments; shoes and bags are droused in metallic colours. Every piece flows with each movement. Tomas Maier, creative directive for Bottega Veneta said, “The silhouette is the focus of the collection.” He believes in personal touches of luxury. Fashion that doesn’t shout luxury, it barely whispers.
