A splash of innocence with a great deal of fun, girlish Mary Janes are transformed into python print boots while quirky plaid dresses and pleated skirts are coupled with a Mondrian flair. Larger-than-usual clutch bags and aviator hats were the regular fixture on the runway. With dropped waist coats and shift dresses, Prada gives the nod to mod.

Leaning towards clean and uncomplicated silhouettes, Bottega Veneta‘s creative director, Thomas Maier wanted to push the boundaries with the Women’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection. He comments, “The result was very particular, with a mix of control and passion that I think reflects the mood of the moment.” Colours are vivid and the collection embraces a broad range of materials – from fuzzy woven wool blends to waxed leather. “Designing this collection was like being in a laboratory.”
